EB-5 Eligibility
The Immigrant Investor Program helps foreign investors quickly acquire permanent residency status in the U.S. by investing in a new or struggling business or in an established Regional Center. However, in order to qualify for the program, investors are required to meet a range of requirements. Failing to comply with the specific rules and regulations of the program could cause an investor’s application to be rejected or an immigrant’s residency status to be revoked.
At White & Associates, we have 15 years of experience helping foreign investors and their families apply for permanent residency in the United States through the Immigrant Investor Program. To speak with a qualified EB-5 lawyer, contact our offices by calling 818-730-3540.
Eligibility Requirements for EB-5 Visas
In order to qualify for an EB-5 visa, an investor is required to:
- Provide evidence of the lawful source of investment funds
- Meet general admission requirements (family members must also meet these requirements)
- Have sufficient funds to invest in, create, or purchase a qualifying business
- Invest at least $1,000,000 into a qualifying enterprise (or $500,000 into a qualifying project in a targeted employment area or Regional Center)
- Create full-time employment for at least 10 workers, or maintain the existing number of workers for a period of two years in an existing business
- Participate in the management of the enterprise
To ensure that you comply with all the requirements of the program and do not compromise your green card eligibility, it is important to have the assistance of a knowledgeable EB-5 immigration lawyer throughout the EB-5 visa application process.
